Palestinian Ambassador falls in love with Vietnamese land and people

(VEN) - After having celebrated 11 traditional Tet holidays in Vietnam, Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam, Saadi Salama, spoke of the Tet holidays, despite changes, still retains distinctive traditional features and according to his own words “Connection, unity, humanity and altruistic” concepts.

The Palestinian ambassador Saadi Salama was one of few ambassadors that left a deep impression on the writer of this article not just because he speaks Vietnamese like his native language but through his knowledge and great love for Vietnam.

15th January 2014, RAMALLAH - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the scorching of a mosque in the village of Dayr Istiya near Salfit in the Northern part of occupied Palestine. This criminal act was committed by a group of settlers as part of the “price tag” operation which aims at performing random violence against Palestinians under the protection of the Israeli soldiers despite the continuous attempts of the Israeli government to deny its responsibility.  

Palestine TV to make a documentary about Palestine-Vietnam relationship

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Palestine diplomatic relations (19/11/1988 – 19/11/2013), with the consent of the Office of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, a TV crew from Palestine TV came to Vietnam at the invitation of Vietnam Television (VTV) in early December 2013 to make a documentary about the friendship between Palestine and Vietnam as well as a series of reports on the development of Vietnam.

During the week of International Day for Solidarity with the Palestinian people (beginning November 29) and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Viet Nam – Palestine diplomatic relations, the event will screen the award-winning documentary 5 Broken Cameras and Palestine: Between The Occupation Walls.

"This film is not only one of the best documentaries of the year, it is one of the best movies of the year... one of the most astonishing and amazing things I've seen in cinema for a long time," said renowned documentary director Michael Moore.
