On the occasion of the International Day for Solidarity with the Palestinian people (29 November) and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Palestine diplomatic relations (19 November 1988 - 19 November 2013), the Embassy of Palestine in Hanoi organized the Palestine Film Festival from 4th to 9th of December, 2013 at Hanoi Cinematheque.

The Palestine Film Festival was a rare chance to see some of the best recent feature films from Palestine, including the extraordinary Academy Award nominated documentary 5 BROKEN CAMERAS with the special presence of Director Emad Burnat. About this movie, Michael Moore wrote: “This film is not only one of the best documentaries of the year, it is one of the best movies of the year… one of the most astonishing and amazing things I’ve seen in the cinema for a long time.”

On Saturday evening December 7th, the Palestine Embassy hosted a reception for Mr. Burnat at Hanoi Cinematheque, 22A Hai Ba Trung Street, Hanoi, followed by a screening of 5 BROKEN CAMERAS. After the screening, there was a discussion/Q&A with Mr. Burnat.

In addition, the Vietnamese short film, PALESTINE: IN BETWEEN THE OCCUPATION WALLS was shown before the main feature.
