Rest in Peace: Ahed, Ismail, Zakariya and Mohammad
Ahed Baker (10 years old), Ismail Baker (9 years old), Mohammad Baker (11 years old) and Zakariya Baker (10 years old) were four cousins playing football at a Gaza Beach when Israeli forces killed them. The assassination was witnessed by foreign reporters who were able to explain what happened and how the children were killed in cold blood. However, how many Palestinian children were killed without anyone to witness theirtragedy? Israel promised to investigate the “incident’, but as always, when crimes are caught on camera, Israel claims it is an exception. In most of the cases, there would be more impunity and the “exceptions” would be multiplied. The State of Israel is openly targeting civilian areas in Occupied Palestine.
Until now, 230 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks during the past 10 days in Gaza (236 since June 13), the vast majority of them being civilians and 47 of them children like Ahed, Mohammad, Zakariya and Ismail.
THE ANSWER TO ISRAEL’S SECURITY IS NOT THE COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT OF PALESTINIANS
Israel is killing Palestinian civilians with impunity granted by the International community. Israel should be held responsible for its continuous aggression against the Palestinian people, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
